Earlier this year I decided to take a course in Graphic Design, because I wanted to learn how to increase my graphic creation skills to help me brand myself and market online.
In the course I’m learning how to use Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I must say, Photoshop is kicking my ass. I’ve always shunned away from it, because it just seems too intense.
I even signed up at Lynda.com to learn front and center how to use these programs, but even with their great tutorials and lessons, Photoshop is still not a friend of mine.
I know a lot of people who love and swear by Photoshop, but I have to be honest, it’s just not for me.
Maybe it’s because I have other resources that allow me to create graphics and edit photos, such as the website PicMonkey. It doesn’t compare to Photoshop, but it has it’s place.
I also have this software called Logo Creator that allows me to make tons of graphics, such as business cards, Facebook covers, ecover graphics, website headers, web banners, web graphics, you name it!
Just when I thought I’d seen this software do everything it can, today I learned there’s more. Here’s a video by Marc Sylvester who happens to be the creator of the Logo Creator software showing another great way to use this tool. Check it out!
When I saw this, my mind immediately thought of a lower third graphic for my future videos.
Using the lower third is a great way to create a custom video opener or to give a call to action at the end of your videos. You can direct your viewers to either visit your website, join your mailing list or subscribe to your YouTube channel.
This would also make a great addition to video maker services as a business model. Sellers could help improve their customer’s brand image by using a lower third in their videos.
So what do you think? Do you like this feature? Think you’d like to add it to your videos?
